 Title I and Family Engagement Activities

 Burnett Elementary will host the following activities to build the capacity for strong family involvement.  These activities are designed to support the partnership between school, families, and the community to promote the successful academic achievement of our students.

Sneak-A-Peek – August 2, 2018

Families will have an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher and visit the school.

Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meetings -    August 17, 2018      January 23, 2019    May 7, 2019

The PAC meets to share ideas, build partnerships with the school, other families, and the community.

Title I Volunteer BreakfastAugust 17, 2018

 Families will have an opportunity to learn about all the ways that they can volunteer at Burnett.

Safety at Home and School Collaborative Meeting with Eastside- September 4, 2018

Resource Officers from Burnett Elementary and Eastside Elementary School will share tips on how to stay safe at school and at home. The meeting will take place at Eastside Elementary.

Lexile Luau/ABC SocialSeptember 11, 2018 (K-2 at lunch) September 12, 2018 (3-5 at lunch) September 11, 2018 (during the evening, all grades)        

Families are invited to meet their child’s teacher, learn more about the curriculum expectations, and school-wide initiatives.

Annual Title I Parent Meeting – October 3, 2018 8:30 am (Session will be repeated at 5:00 pm)

This is a required annual meeting in which parents are given information about Title I and all the services and activities that will be provided. 

Writing Expo – November 29, 2018

Families will visit their child’s classroom to view the writing of their child, gain insight on how to help their child at home, and celebrate the progress that has been made. 

Diving into Data-January 15, 2019

Students will share their data based on results from various local school assessments.  Teachers will discuss end of year goals and strategies that children can use at home to help meet goals.

GMAS Chats -January 15, 2019 repeated March 13, 2019

Information will be shared concerning what is required for student success on the Georgia Milestone Assessment System. Parents will get to experience an online practice session.

Moving On Up! TBA

Sessions will be held for rising Kindergarten and 5th grade students and their families. Information will be provided from counselors and teachers on ways that parents can help prepare their child for the upcoming grade level.

The Parent Resource Center has just what you're looking for! The center provides supplemental resources for Burnett students and their families. You will find educational games, math manipulatives, computers, reading activities, parenting materials and much, much more! Come and visit today! 

Hours Open

Mondays: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Thursday and Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
