Mason Creek Middle School art teacher Victoria Vinson received the Excellence in Arts in Victoria Vinson with the CAC's Emily LightnerEducation award at the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County's 2025 Gala & Auction on Nov. 15. The annual fundraising event, themed "Curtains Up: A Celebration of Cinema & Culture," was held at GreyStone Power and attended by Superintendent Dr. Trent North.

The Excellence in Arts in Education award recognizes educators who make outstanding contributions to arts education by consistently inspiring and encouraging the arts in their students.

Mrs. V, as she is affectionately known to her students, is a former Mason Creek Middle School Teacher of the Year. She is a passionate advocate for arts education and student inclusion. Throughout her school, she is recognized for helping all students develop their creative talents and abilities.

"For years, Ms. Victoria Vinson has nurtured creativity and confidence in her students," said Dr. Tiffany Weaver, principal of Mason Creek Middle School. "This honor simply reflects the remarkable impact she has already made in their lives. Ms. Vinson doesn't just teach art; she inspires students to see possibility everywhere."

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County supports arts and culture throughout the community through programs, events, and educational initiatives.
