Factory Shoals Middle School families recently celebrated the important role that mothers, grandmothers, and female guardians play in supporting student success during a special Muffins with Moms event.
Guests enjoyed fresh muffins, juice, and coffee while connecting with other families and listening to inspiring words from the school’s administration.
Media specialist Katrina Barnett said the morning continued with an engaging school highlights presentation featuring student projects, upcoming events, and ways families can stay involved. Attendees also learned about Literacy Night and explored helpful high school information available on the school’s website and social media pages.
“The highlight of the event was the Makerspace rotation, where moms and students worked side by side on hands-on activities,” Barnett said. “Stations included book cover design, jewelry making, Lego building challenges, coding games, digital art, and a craft zone inspired by Hispanic artists. Families also enjoyed classic board games, card games, and a lively selfie station to capture the special memories.”
The event wrapped up with closing remarks and photo moments, leaving everyone smiling and inspired.
“It was a joyful celebration of creativity, connection, and community!” Barnett said.
