Arbor Station Elementary was recently full of energy and enthusiasm as families gathered for the
school’s much-anticipated Math Mania Night. The event featured hands-on learning, prizes, and meaningful activities designed to build excitement about math and strengthen skills across all elementary math domains.
Parents and students explored creative strategies, tackling math concepts in a fun, engaging way. Stations were set up to cover a variety of topics, including number sense, geometry, measurement and problem-solving.
“Families learned techniques they can use at home to support their children’s learning, making math feel approachable and enjoyable for everyone,” said Katherine Wallace, fourth-grade math/science teacher and event coordinator.
Participants left with a variety of tools to continue their math journey at home. Activities included math manipulatives, dice, playing cards, rulers, protractors and make-and-take activities tailored to various grade levels. Families also received word-problem clue word sheets and math games to practice key skills in interactive ways—ensuring the learning doesn’t stop at the event but continues for years to come.
The night wasn’t just about learning—it was about celebrating math together. Families had the chance to win prizes that included math-themed games and tools. Smiles filled the room as students walked away with their prizes, showcasing the joy and enthusiasm Math Mania Night sparked within the Arbor Station school community.
“Events like Math Mania Night highlight the importance of connecting families to the learning process,” said Principal Dr. Emily Felton. “Every activity was designed to empower parents and students to tackle math with confidence. By providing strategies, tools, and resources, we’re fostering a love for learning and creating stronger connections between school and home.”
Felton expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make the night a success.
“Together, we’re building a school community where math isn’t just a subject—it’s a celebration," she said. "We look forward to hosting more events that inspire and engage families in meaningful ways."
