A Chapel Hill Elementary fifth-grader has been cast in the Atlanta Ballet's "The Nutcracker" at the 
Cobb Energy Centre.
Skylar Lauridson performed on Dec. 14 and 18 and will also perform on Dec. 21 and 27.
Her mom, Elaine, said after Skylar's first tech rehearsal, she "came home completely amazed."
"She couldn't stop talking about how big the stage is and how the chair and cabinet grew during the scene," Elaine said. "Skylar has been dancing since the age of 3 and has performed in the Carrollton Nutcracker for the past three years, so seeing her reach this moment means a lot to us."
In addition to her performance in "The Nutcracker," Skylar also recently performed in "Away in a Manger" at her piano recital and caroled with her Girl Scout troop at a local senior home.
