Alexander students with AP History teacher Holly Perry at the Atlanta History Center during spring break.

More than a dozen Alexander High School students took a day of their spring break to explore and learn more about the history of Georgia and the United States at the Atlanta History Center. Teacher Holly Perry made reservations for her AP US History students and extended the invitation to other history classes at the school in order to facilitate an impactful educational opportunity for as many as were available to attend.

A goal for Perry was to view the archived documents from the nation’s founding fathers with her students. A rich educational resource for our area, the center’s collection features 55,000 museum artifacts, over 17,000 linear feet of archival and library collections, and 33 acres of living collections.

“Ms. Perry is an amazing teacher who keeps students engaged and excited about learning,” one parent commented. “We are very blessed to have her at our high school.”
