Mason Creek Middle students hold up certificates declaring their choices  for high school magnet program.

Parents, students and teachers proudly filled the media centers at Mason Creek and Factory Assistant Superintendent Chelsie Goodman poses with daughters Penny and Ginny at Mason Creek Middle's Magnet Signing Day event.Shoals middle schools last week to witness Magnet Academic Signing Day for more than 50 rising freshmen. The highly anticipated event recognized scholars accepted into their chosen high school magnet programs.

Scholars were all smiles as their names were announced, each receiving a certificate and signing a letter of intent for their selected magnet program. The special occasion mirrored the excitement of an athletic signing day and was designed to inspire students as they take their next steps toward future success.

“I am incredibly proud to see my students bridge the gap between middle school curiosity and high school ambition,” said Dr. Tiffany Weaver, principal of Mason Creek Middle School. “Signing with a magnet program proves they have the discipline to chase their passions and the courage to lean into a challenge.”

Many of the scholars will continue their academic journeys at Chapel Hill and New Manchester high schools, Douglas County High School’s International Baccalaureate program and Alexander High School.

Factory Shoals Middle School also proudly recognized its outstanding eighth-grade scholars A student at Factory Shoals Middle holds up a certificate declaring her intent for high school magnet program.who have been accepted into one of Douglas County’s prestigious magnet high school programs.

The school community celebrated the exciting achievement during a special signing event, where scholars had the opportunity to officially sign certificates representing their future schools.

Principal LaVar Hickerson described the event as a moment filled with pride, joy and well-deserved recognition.

“We applaud these students for their dedication, perseverance and academic excellence,” remarked Hickerson. “Their hard work has truly paid off, and we look forward to all they will accomplish in this next chapter.”
