New Manchester High School senior Benjamin Cook earned first place in Computer Applications at the State Career & Technical Instructional Conference, held April 15-17 at the 4-H Rock Eagle Center in Eatonton.
Teacher Ashley Hunter said Cook was tasked with creating a computer system for the contest.
“Benjamin decided he wanted to create his own computer system that he built from scratch and downloaded different applications on it, such as games and Google, that he can use,” Hunter said. “I think it was remarkable the work he displayed and was able to piece it together by hand alone.”
