Alexander High School’s Christopher Morgan has been named a 2026 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education.
The Georgia Scholar program recognizes graduating seniors who demonstrate strong academic achievement and contribute to their schools and communities through leadership and service. Each honoree receives a diploma seal and graduation cord. This year, 162 seniors across Georgia earned the recognition.
Christopher completed all of his graduation requirements a full semester ahead of schedule with a 4.0 GPA. Those academic achievements earned him acceptance to seven universities, including Georgetown University, Pepperdine University, Seton Hall University, The George Washington University, the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of Georgia, and the University of Southern California. He has not yet announced where he will continue his studies.
Christopher's accomplishments extend well beyond the classroom. He competes in goalball, a Paralympic sport for athletes who are blind or have low vision, and has played with the Georgia Blind Sports Association since 2021. He earned a spot on the Boys' High School All-American Team at the Youth National Goalball Tournament four consecutive years and was named Most Valuable Player among high school competitors in both 2024 and 2025.
In November 2025, he tried out for the U.S. Men's National Goalball Team at just 17 years old. He was selected as one of the top 12 athletes in the country, becoming the youngest player ever named to the Prospect Pool. In March 2026, he represented the United States at the Berlin Nations Cup in Berlin, Germany.
Christopher plans to compete for a spot on the U.S. roster for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
